CACAO + GONG
This month as we celebrate the Mayan Goddess Ix’Chel, we’ll delight in the ceremonial, heart-opening medicine of cacao. Sacred to the ancient Maya, cacao has been in use for an even longer period, being found in pottery dating back to the Olmec civilization nearly 4000 years ago. As we drink in this sacred medicine, we’ll talk about the energies of the day according to the Mayan calendar.
The Mayan calendar is based on a flow of 20 energies that each have their own totem, element, direction, and herb that offer us guidance for the day and for our lives. As the 20 energies overlap into days, months, and years, they create a unique imprint for each day that won't be repeated for thousands of years.
We’ll seal off our practice with a gong bath.
The gong offers a powerful vibrational medicine that works at the cellular level to release old energies and recalibrate your body for harmony and healing. The specific gong used in this healing is attuned to the planet Nibiru, translating from ancient Babylonian texts to "crossing" or "point of transition”. In Babylonian astronomy, Nibiru was both a being and a point in the sky that travelers could ask for direction if they were lost.

Cat is an energy healer and Reiki Master Teacher with nearly 15 years of practice and a lifelong connection to spirits, nature, and the unexplained. She has both taught and given healings in Reiki and Earth-centered energy work across the US and around the globe. Cat enjoys nothing more than geeking out over energy work, metaphysics, and spirituality. Ok, food is a close second.
